A Note of Inspiration

As explained in my "About Me" and those who know my family well, my son Matthew has had incredible challenges in his life. With the help of modern medicine and the Lord, he survived and is thriving living on his own because of CASS Housing. We feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of this incredible organization who provides beautiful housing for adults with disABILITIES. CASS stands for Customizable, Affordable, Sustainable, and Safe housing. 

I recently attended a fundraiser for CASS Housing. At this event, an inspirational young man name Chris Nikic spoke. Chris has Down syndrome and in 2020 ran in the Ironman Race. As Chris joyfully spoke, I glanced around the room as hundreds of people remained glued to his every word. This young man spent a year preparing for this goal, despite his challenges. He was truly inspirational. 

As his speech came to an end, he emphasized one goal, "I try everyday to be 1% better than yesterday." With this, I walked away moved and inspired to be at least 1% better in the many hats I wear in my life, as a critical care nurse and now as a new business entrepreneur. As the months pass since opening AbbyLou, I strive and will continue to give you my all, even as I grow in my craft. Thank you for trusting and allowing me the opportunity to serve you.
