About Me

Professionally, I am a critical care nurse and have been for many years.  I love being a nurse and caring for others. On a personal level, I have much gratitude for the medical profession because my son's life was saved by some very gifted-hands in the field. For this, I will always be grateful to have the privilege of reciprocating the care once given to us so generously.

Equally, I have a great appreciation for nature and the gifts it can offer us. Holistically, plants have always fascinated me. With great anticipation, a beautiful new Spring always brings a hint of excitement with planning my latest flowers and herbs to "play with". I truly believe nature can be therapeutic on so many levels if given to time to explore.

So I explored, and fell in love with organic soap-making. The endless avenues of creativity excite me. I am driven by the organics of simple oils, butters, clays and roots from the earth, and beautiful scents offered by pure essential oils. However, this exploration granted me more than I could have ever anticipated.

It was at this time I was experiencing an incredibly difficult time. Life had without a doubt delivered sour lemons, but it was up to me to change it. It was my desperate search for optimism and the discovery of soap-making that AbbyLou Soap Co. was born, and my sour lemons were again sweetened. 

With much joy and YES, obsession for soap-making, thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you. I pray you enjoy these gifts from nature as much as I do. I so look forward to serving you and growing as a company.
